The intent of the Asphalt Mixture Additives evaluation program is to
evaluate recycling agent additives, warm-mix asphalt products (additives) and technologies (foaming and
other processes), and antistrip additives.
The evaluation includes binder and mixture performance measures of a standard asphalt mixture with
and without the additive. By evaluating changes in the asphalt binder, volumetric properties of the mix,
and performance test results, we are able to compare the additive with the standard baseline mix. The
goal is to verify that the asphalt mixture additive performs as well as or better than the baseline standard
mix.
